Chapter 15 Summary

Uncle Earle ends up in jail for a time, and the girls spend a lot of time at Aunt Raylene's. Bone decides it's time to use the hook, and she tells Grey about the plan. They meet at midnight behind the Woolworth's store. Grey throws the hook up on the roof, and Bone climbs up using a rope attached to it. Bone goes in through the ceiling where there is a fan, and Grey waits outside, since he's too big to get in this way. Bone ends up crashing through the ceiling and landing on some glass counters that shatter. She sees that the candy counter has been moved up to the front of the store. She swings the hook and breaks more glass cases. As she's doing this, she realizes that everything in the store is cheap and that the displays make things look better than they really are....
