Cavedweller: A Novel OverviewDorothy Allison's Cavedweller can be best described as an adult's coming of age story. The novel takes place between the late 1970s to the early 80s, and tells the story of Delia Byrd. A decade before the start of the novel, Delia had left her abusive husband Clint behind in Cayro, Georgia, along with her two daughters. Following her second husband's death, Delia decides to take herself and other daughter Cissy back to Cayro to try and rebuild her relationship with the two daughters she left behind.
