The Citadel

The Citadel is the largest and most formidable peak that towers over the village of Kurtal. Having claimed the life of Josef Matt in his ill-fated 1850 expedition, it is considered "evil" by the villagers. Men of Kurtal are resigned that it is "off limits," but this notion is soon tested by both Rudi and Captain Winter.

Kurtal

A small village in the middle of the Swiss Alps, Kurtal is a popular site for the newly emerging sport of mountain climbing.

Broli

Broli is a rival village to Kurtal. It is located on the other side of the Citadel from Kurtal. It is home to Emil Saxo, the notorious guide.
