After the awards ceremony, Sam and Anna head to the Governor's Ball, a traditional event that takes place to celebrate the awards. They feel that they have to go to show support for Sam's father, even though she is quite upset that he has gotten re-married and recently had a baby with a woman not that much older than herself. At the ball, Anna runs into a plastic surgeon called Dr. Birnbaum. This is Ben's father.
