Glitterati, Outside. . . , Crushed Velvet Summary

"Back in Black" is a novel about a group of friends at Beverly Hills High School who blow off their school trip to Washington D.C. in favor of a private trip to Las Vegas. The novel begins with "Glitterati," in which Samantha (Sam) and Anna are preparing to go to the Academy Awards. Sam's father is a famous actor, and has been nominated for an award this year. The girls watch all of the stars walk by on the red carpet, and Anna, who is beautiful, is mistaken for a star by a group of teenagers.
