Chapters 14 - 18. Summary

In Chapter 13, Ellie loves being on the water. The crew sails the dinghy to Will's boat, the Pride Winn, and they launch into the bay. Ellie hopes that she can have a private conversation with Lance about Mr. Morton and Jennifer, but realizes that she won't get the chance. She talks a little with Marco, who tells her that he was poor before his mother married Will's father. He seems to really resent Will, but it is unclear why. Will doesn't seem to notice his half-brother's resentment. Ellie tells Lance that Mr. Morton wants to see them about their paper the next day, then the subject is turned when Marco spots the group of poor kids on their battered boat.
