Part 3, Chapter 9 "The Generator" Summary

Dr. Robert Stadler hears Galt's "Get the hell out of my way!" on his car radio before all radio stations go off the air. Stadler is terrified by Galt's statement and by Thompson's implied death threat. Stadler intends to take over the Project X structure and seize control of his little part of the planet, but another gang has already seized the plant. They let Stadler in because he is a friend of the chief engineer. He goes to the underground control room and finds a drunk Cuffy Meigs is "Boss."
