Father Timothy

Father Tim is the rector at Lord's Chapel, the Episcopal Church located in Mitford, North Carolina. At Home in Mitford details the life of Father Tim, sixty, the son of a dark and silent Episcopal father, and loving Baptist mother. Tim is feeling tired and burnt out, and the novel tells the story of Tim over the period of about one year.

Tim has written to his bishop about his fear that he no longer has what it takes to be the rector at Lord's Chapel. Tim feels his sermons are tired and lack the spiritual message that his parishioners need. The bishop urges Tim to take some time before giving up, that making changes in his life might be what is needed. Tim takes the time, and changes do come,.....
