Fred has cleaned up, getting help through an AA group populated by other Vietnam Vets. Now Fred works counseling vets like himself. Fred calls Slip and tells her he is going on a peace march from L.A. to Washington D.C. Slip decides to join Fred for a small stretch when he reaches Iowa. Slip watches Fred confront a vet who is offended by their peaceful protest and turn the situation into an impromptu counseling series.
