Vittoria says that antimatter is the opposite of matter, balancing the physical equation. She tells Kohler that her father devised a way of pulling the antimatter from the matter before it was destroyed. The antimatter can be stored in canisters as long as it doesn't touch the canisters or any other matter. She shows them a canister holding five thousand nanograms of antimatter. Langdon sees a shimmering glob of mercury-like liquid, hovering in the middle of the canister. Vittoria explains that antimatter is highly unstable, canceling out any matter that it comes into contact with. She believes that it is the energy source of the future since it is completely efficient with no byproducts or radiation.

When Vittoria takes the canister from the podium, she explains that the battery on the canister will run.....
