Summary

In Chapter 116, Tom wonders what Penny is doing on the other side of the planet. He wonders if she would trust everything Goettreider is telling him as he is losing faith in the old scientist.

Chapter 117 depicts Goettreider’s attempts to cure cancer in order to save Ursula. He went back in time to the final time he visited her and tried to convince her to let him treat her. She refused, realizing her mind was going and not wanting a prolonged mindless life. She realized that he might try to go back and treat her, and she makes him promise he would not go farther back than that moment. Goettreider agreed, but continued to go back to the same moment in time in attempts to convince her. Once, he forced her to try the cure and it ended up killing her, so...
