Point of View

The point of view of Afterlife is third-person, primarily through the eyes and emotions of Will Brody and Claire McCoy. However, there are a few chapters where the perspective shifts to Edmund, a native Londoner turned Eater in his afterlife. Nevertheless, Brody and Claire remain the main protagonists of the novel, with Edmund acting as the main antagonist - though at first his desires are undertaken by Simon Tucks as a sniper. As a result, the reader is most invested in the fate of Brody and Claire as well as their love story.
