Fables 36-40 Summary

(36) "The Fox and the Dog" A fox grabs a lamb and tells the dog he is just teasing and playing with it. The dog tells him to stop, or he will feel the caresses of a dog. (37) "The Fox and the Leopard" A fox and a leopard compare their appearance. The leopard says he is beautiful because of his coat's variety. The fox replies he is varied in his soul as well as his body. (38) "The Fox and the Monkey Elected King" A monkey is elected king, and a jealous fox sets a trap for him. The fox tricks the monkey into the trap and tells him he is too foolish to rule over all the animals. (39) "The Fox and the Monkey Dispute Their Nobility" A.....
