As the main character's partner tells the story, the main individual exclaims that he doesn't understand how this person has so much power. The partner explains that the man's employer, known as "The Boss," is a major right-wing political figure. He was incarcerated by Occupation forces. Once released, he took half of his money and put an entire arm of the conservative party on his payroll. The other half he used to buy up the advertising industry. Further, he has full manipulation over the stock market, as he is able to force turnovers and takeovers seamlessly, and if that is not possible, blackmail or murder are used.
