Summary

In Chapter 14, Beauvoir met with the rest of the Sûreté team in their temporary situation room in the building that also housed the volunteer fire department for Three Pines. He was angry with Ruth because she would not let them move the fire truck so that it would not freeze up. In the moments before the meeting began, another agent named Isabelle Lacoste told Lemieux that he needed to be himself and not pretend because an agent could not find out the truth about murderers if they could not admit the truth about themselves.
