The den

This is a cool, dark place scooped out from under the roots of a large tree by a creek. This is where Mother, a feral dog, and her four puppies live.

The culvert

This is a a metal pipe under the road near the den where the puppies and their mother hide when humans come in a truck to catch them.

The Yard

This is a large fenced-in area where Senora keeps many dogs of different sizes and ages. A tall wooden fences surrounds it. Toby, the main character who is a feral puppy is caught and put into the yard along with his brother, Fast , his mother and eventually his sister, Sister.
