Chapters 26 - 29 Summary

In chapter 26, Ellie is now a boy again and has a mother with a black face. He has eight brothers and sisters. The puppy ponders all the things he has learned in his different lifetimes. What is the reason for this rebirth? Someone congratulates the owner, called Colonel , on having a litter that will bring top dollar. However there is some concern about the puppy who was Ellie. He doesn't have energy and sleeps all the time. The puppy is the last one to be adopted by a man named Derek who offers two fifty, a low price for a pedigree Black Lab. Derek says it's for his girlfriend. He takes the puppy to to Wendi, who calls him Bear. Wendi doesn't take good care of Bear and finally tries to give him to her mother., Lisa. She doesn't want Bear...
