Summary

Fayre realizes that the third test will kill her, as Amarantha would never allow her to live. The later is planning a war on humans using the help from the king of a second faerie realm named Hybern. Fayre slips into a deep depression, and only snaps out of it when she hears beautiful music from an unknown source.

The day before the final test, Rhysand takes her to one final celebration. She and Tamlin are able to sneak away and kiss in a fury of passion. Rhysand catches them and sends Tamlin away.
