Summary

Fayre returns to the dining room where she learns her captor’s name is Tamlin. Fayre learns that he is providing for her family and he will only care for them as long as she stays in Prythian. Lucien asks her if she finds faeries more attractive than human men and she says she did not love anyone. While exploring the house, Fayre finds paintings that remind her of her passion for art. Tamlin finds her and tells her about the blight that has forced the Fae to wear masks for 50 years, drains their magic, and could infect the human world.

Fayre wanders the estate and decides that she must bring Lucien to her side to ever have a chance to escape. When Alis calls her to lunch, Fayre realizes someone is watching her, but she is not sure who. At dinner...
