Chapters 16-20 Summary

In Chapter 16, the narrator describes the night of Missy's death. He has worked long hours that day and wanted to have barbecue before going home to sleep, but a slow moving car caused him to have to change the direction in which he had planned to drive. The man saw Missy on the road and slowed down. However, as he was about to pass her, a large dog jumped out and frightened her. Missy stepped in front of the car seconds before he hit her.

In Chapter 17, Sims Addison is an alcoholic who has been to prison in the past. Sims had terrible withdrawn and was beaten severely in prison. For this reason, Sims was released early, but any trouble with the law will get him back in jail for the remainder of his sentence. For this reason, Sims is not happy...
