April is a 23-year-old girl who suddenly goes viral for discovering Carl as a robot statue in An Absolutely Remarkable Thing. Since then, she has become a famous advocate for the alien, which attracts a group of people who hate her so much that they try to kill her by locking her inside a burning building.
