Protein is produced by the liver with aminoacids from diet as essential amino acids as well as nonessential amino acids synthesised by the body itself.albumin and globulin are the blood proteins synthesised by the liver and serve mainly for transporting other nutrients across the body from intestines to kidney etc.The essential amino acids can only be got from eating via diet.In severe depression, there is a significant loss of appetite for food hence a corresponding drop in essential amino acids input leading to reduced protein production in the body.
