Knowledge, as you probably know, is a very broad term. You already possess knowledge to some extent - be it the way you survive, live, or go around in the world; however, since you posted it in the Environment section, I would assume that you are seeking knowledge related to the Environment.

Your first step would be to understand what the Environment is - you might simply do a few simple searches through your favorite search engine to get a general idea of what it is. e.g. A good way to start your quest for knowledge would be - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environment

The next step would be to get acquainted with the global concerns that scientific communities and governments all around the world are currently discussing. e.g. You could refer to past Kyoto agreements, the current Copenhagen debacle - Try Google/Yahoo news to keep you updated with the situation

Finally, you could subscribe to one of the many Environmental blogs which will keep you updated with latest ongoing research and/or information concerning the Environment. e.g. http://www.worldchanging.com/

I'm afraid that I can't help you more unless you are a little more specific on what you want to acquire knowledge in.
