What adaption would be helpful for an animal species that was moved into the Arctic?

One very handy adaptation would be the ability to have thicker fur or a layer of blubber to insulate the species against the bitter cold. Another adaptation would be the ability to survive the intense glare of the sun off of the ice and snow. Another good adaptation would be the ability to slow metabolism down so that when food becomes scarce, the organism has a better chance of surviving until food becomes more readily obtained.
