How does classical mechanics differ from quantum mechanics?

Classical mechanics are continuous, moving in smooth, orderly patterns. They are predictable.

Quantum mechanics are unpredictable. Movement is random, meaning that "jumps" occur, which are seemingly random transitions between states: "quantum leaps". Unlike classical mechanics, which move in a ramp like fashion, quantum meachanics jump, as if they're moving up a staircase.
