1)prenatal to birth
Pregnancy is the period from conception to birth. After the egg is fertilized by a sperm and then implanted in the lining of the uterus, it develops into the placenta and embryo, and later into a fetus. Pregnancy usually lasts 40 weeks, beginning from the first day of the woman's last menstrual period, and is divided into three trimesters, each lasting three months.

2) Infant to toddlers

Infant to toddler goes from age range 0-12months and then 12-36months. Generally first words will be said within this time limit and size will increase.

3)Play years

During the play years a child will begin to start taking everything in and become more aware of their social surroundings. Also they will begin to start testing out certain areas like social behavior; what is acceptible and what is not.

4)School years

From age range 6-12 is considered a child's school years. By now children have fine motor skills but their coordination may vary. Children in the older end of this stage generally begin to undergo puberty.

5)Teens to adolesce

The age range for this category is from age 13-18. Teens have fine motor skills and their hand-eye coordination is smooth and technical. Mentally teens are at their learning 'prime' as far as learning and concentration goes. Adolescence is a transitional stage from childhood to adulthood. This period is often about a teen 'discovering' who they are as far as making it on their own is concerned.
