Genetics go hand in hand with evolution because occasionally there will be a mutated gene in an individual organism which gives it an adaptation to better survive. Of the ones that survive they will reproduce and pass that genetic material onto their offspring and over time this adaptation will become an evolutionary pattern because more and more offspring have this adaptation.
