Citric acid

is citric acid an enzyme? I know you can make enzyme out of citric peels left in water for a long time. so wouldn't citric acid work the same way but faster?

Citric acid cycle contains enzymes that work on various structures to break their bonds or convert/bond with them. The four key enzymes are: Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex (PDH) "step O", Citrate Synthase: step 1, Isocitrate Dehydrogenase: step 3, a-Ketoglutarate Dehydrogenase Complex: step 4.
