Anatomy- the study of structure of living things

Kinesiology- the study of human movement

it is important to incorporate anatomy into kinesiology because the structure of the human body affects its movement. for example the biceps brachii crosses two joints, the elbow and the shoulder, providing movement in both joints. By knowing the anatomy (where the muscle originates and inserts, and the orientation of the muscle fibres) its action can be determined.
