No, actually. After the last prophet and messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad died, Abu Bakr was caliphate. When he was dying he told Umar (in a hadeeth) to not kill the wives, the children, the ill, or the poor. He also told Umar not to commit emezzlement, among other things. Abu Bakr passed it on to Umar as Prophet Muhammad passed it on to Abu Bakr. Under any circumstances, these four groups of people are not allowed to be killed. Unfotunately, the Shiite do not consider Umar as one of the twelve imams. Under research, the first seven or so imams were 'pious' and after that the were normal muslims. The last imam, under some sources, claim that he never existed. There happened to be an issue with having sons around that generation of 'the last imam.'
