1x^2 - 3x - 4 = 0

(x )(x ) ( -4)( +1)=0

(x-4) (x+1) = 0

Solve:

(x-4)=0

x-4+4=0+4

x=4

Solve:

(x+1) = 0

x+1-1 = 0-1

x=-1
