1x^2 + 13x + 40 = 0

(x )(x ) ( +5)( +8)=0

(x+5) (x+8) = 0

Solve:

(x+5) =0

x+5-5 =0-5

x=-5

Solve:

(x+8) = 0

x+8-8 = 0-8

x=-8
