factor until nothing esle can be factored

factoring numbers into primes

if there are exponents on a factor, rewrite them without an exponent

4x3 = 2 *x*x*x*2

7xy2= x *y*y*7

2*x*x*x*2*y*y*7

The LCM is the product of all the columns

=2*2*7 *x*x*x *y*y

= 28 x3 y2
