Manjiro has something that belongs to the captain. What happens to it?

Manjiro has the captain's pocket watch, which Jolly intended to plant on him and accuse him of stealing. Manjiro wants to return the watch, but before he can do so, the boat lurches violently..... and the watch flies out of Manjiro's hand and into the ocean.
