In the Republic, Socrates says, "Then any intermeddling in the three classes, or change from one to another, would inflict great damage on the state, and may with perfect propriety be described as in the strongest sense a doing of evil" (p. 67). Explain this statement and its relation to the principle of role allocation advocated by Socrates and his understanding of justice.
