The people who supported the constitution were called Federalists. Federalists were people who wanted the constitution and everything that went along with it. They belived that it was necissary for the states to have a strong leader. Anti-federalists wanted to keep the articles of confederation and were perfectly happy with the government as it was. This group of people were afraid that the states would turn into a monarchy becuase the president could take control.
