His beliefs on the American Revolution were that it had to happen in order to ensure the prosperity of America. In hindsight he was glad that it happened but felt disgust for the Continental Congress who he believed had not given his troops adequate support and whose 'Articles of Association' were inadequate. He believed that the Revolution was a response to British attacks of colonial liberty and sovereignty. He saw British Imperial policy like the Proclamation Line of 1763, the Stamp Act of 1765 and most of all the Intolerable (or Coercive) Acts of 1774 as indicative of a British conspiracy to deprive the colonials of their liberty and further to reduce them to a state of 'abject thraldom'. Sorry if this answer is a bit scattered, Your question is a tad vague.
