Who is Trevor Thomas from The Silent Woman: Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes and what is their importance?

Trevor Thomas was one of Sylvia's neighbors in the apartment building where she lived with her husband and children. He authored a memoir about his encounters with Sylvia and Ted for which he was sued. In the end, he admitted much of what the memoir contained was nothing more than fabrication.
