The Wild Child is a thirteen-year-old girl, who has spent her life living on the streets. Over the course of the novel, Wild Child gets pregnant, and Meridian attempts to take her under her wing. Unfortunately, Wild Child escapes her and is struck by a car while running across the street. She dies as a result of the accident.
