The Telegraphist appears in the story, In the Cage. Although she remains unnamed, the telegraph operator is the story's main character and is described as slender and quite pretty. Over the course of the story, we learn that the operator is engaged, works in the post office, and loves her job because she finds great entertainment in the telegrams she has access to daily.
