Who is Noam Chumsky from Genie: A Scientific Tragedy and what is their importance?

Linguist, Noam Chomsky, published a study that would change the way many people looked at the development of language in 1957. Chomsky theorized that children are born with the ability to understand syntax. Chomsky states that there is one sentence all babies are able to understand at birth, but that most sentences are not like this one. Therefore, it is integral that the language learner adjust the sentence in order to understand language.
