who is maggie from the great train robbery and what was her importance to the story

Maggie is a twelve year old girl, who steals laundry. She is also one of Clean Willy's girls.... a very young prostitute. Maggie is important to the story because Pierce uses her to take a message to Willy..... to tell him to break out of jail, and to give him instructions of the way it should be done.
