Who is Laton from The Neutronium Alchemist Consolidation and what is their importance?

Laton is a mass murderer and corrupter of Edenist ideas. His family was killed and possessed during the initial outbreak of the energy virus on Lalonde. Laton's possessor takes him to Pernik, but is forced out by Laton, who sacrifices himself to scuttle the habitat and free the Edenist captain Syrinx.
