Gladys Aroosia is Peter's mother's half-sister. She never married and is a successful Wall Street business woman. Unlike her sisters, Gladys remembers the Armenian genocide..... the way her mother struggled. Gladys is highly religious woman, and like the other Aroosian women, she believes that Armenian culture should be upheld, She also believes that the past should remain silent. When Peter pushes her, however, Gladys reveals that she, Nafina, her sister Alice, and her father were rounded up for the deportation march to Der Zor after the Turks destroyed their family home. She also tells him about Nafina's breakdown after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
