Who is Dylan Thomas from Kafka Was the Rage: A Greenwich Village Memoir and what is their importance?

Dylan Thomas is a renown poet. One evening, while he and his wife were attending a party in Greenwich Village, Thomas' wife became drunk and started a fight. He responded by throwing her on the bed and sitting on her.
