Elie Wiesel in Night

In chapter 4 of Night by Elie Wiesel, how would you describe Elie? Is he a static or dynamic character?

In Chapter Four, Elie is most certainly a dynamic character. He goes through changes on a daily basis, he is beaten, he is cagey (think of his avoidance of the dentist), and he makes friends within the block. He even goes so far as to make plans with his friends. plans dependent upon their survival.
