Gary Weber is a friend of Wright’s who doesn’t admit to being enlightened, but might as well have. His consciousness operates on a very different level from that of the average person. His habits of thought embody the Buddhist concepts of not-self and emptiness, as he no longer attaches essences to stimuli, nor thinks of himself all the time. In a brain scan, his default mode network was found to be extraordinarily quiet at all times.
