David W. Mullins was the vice chairman of the Federal Reserve System when he was hired by Meriwether. As second in command to Alan Greenspan, Mullins commanded a lot of respect among bankers and central bankers. Mullins' father was once the president of the University of Arkansas, and he had taught at Harvard.
