Egger's image of Michael dropping the phone book on Valentino's head pinpoints the way Michael, and the rest of the United States, sees Valentino...... as a burden to be silenced. Michael's willingness to use violent measures makes it easier to ignore Valentino where he lies beaten and bound on the floor.
