Chapter Nine revolves around the differences of two major characters, August and Jacob. Through these characters, we come to realize, as does Jacob, that something is quite right with August. August's character is questionable...... cruel, and his behavior is disturbing at best. On the whole, we are left waiting for Jacob to come to a conclusion about August.
